Body image is independent of body size and shape. It is also independent of your actual physical appearance. Any person of any physical description can have either a positive or negative body image. Body image is often closely linked to self-esteem.
Self-esteem is: How much you value and accept yourself, how worthwhile you feel and the extent to which you feel loved and accepted by others. Promoting positive body image can improve an individuals self esteem and overall happiness.
Topics Covered On completion of the workshop, parents will have acquired knowledge that will help them support their children, stimulate thought and participate in enlightening discussions. Children (and parents) will be empowered to form and maintain a healthy relationship with their bodies. The workshop will also detail where to find professional support and treatment.
