Fear of Rejection

Fear of rejection is a state of mind that makes a person feel inadequate, helpless and worthless. It inhibits a person from acting naturally, because they fear the disapproval of others.

A person's uniqueness disappears the moment they put too much emphasis on what others want them to be. Anyone who is caught up with pleasing others will also emulate the behaviour of those whose approval they desire.

A person who fears being rejected can be characterized as:-

    1) Lacks confidence

    2) Lacks self expressions

    3) Is often repressed and depressed

    4) Does not have an understanding of 'self'

    5) Has poor self esteem and self worth.

Often a person who behaviours in the in the above manor will alienate others and thus lose the very people whose relationship they value.
