Cosmetic Surgery
Important
A recent survey found that almost half of Britons would consider cosmetic surgery. In 2007 577,000 cosmetic treatments were carried out in the UK - around 90% of them on women. The market has doubled in two years and is now worth more than £900m. It is expected to top £1bn in 2008.
'For many Britons some
simple procedures are as routine as going to their
hairdresser' stated the Harley Medical Group
not long ago. The number of
inquiries it received in the first two weeks of 2008
is at an all-time high - a 32 per cent increase on
2007. Breast surgery is
still the most popular procedure - but 20 per cent
more men are opting to go under the knife than in
2006. The number of those
having botox has also soared by 51 per cent, while
non-surgical facelifts and laser hair removal are
also up.
