KS3 & KS4

Objective

To equip, educate and empower teens, on issues related to communication, managing emotions and associated subject matters, while emphasizing the importance of self acceptance and respect for others.

Overview

This workshop is designed to support educators who want to augment their approach to teaching self esteem, self confidence, communication skills, conflict management and managing emotions (anger & stress).

PSHE

The workshops support the national curriculum for PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education)  Personal Wellbeing Key Stage 3 & 4.

Topics Covered

At the end of the workshop pupils will have gained a greater awareness and understanding of the issues surrounding self esteem, communication and managing emotions.

Self-esteem:

How much you value and accept yourself, how worthwhile you feel and the extent to which you feel loved and accepted by others.

Communication:

Communication skills are important for success. Social and emotional issues directly impact how teenagers communicate. Appreciating how language and emotions block the communication process will enable them to avoid specific communication problems and thus enhance their relationships.

Managing emotions:

"Manage your emotions or they will manage you."

Boys in particular, need to understand and manage (control) emotions in a productive, socially acceptable way.  Conflict resolution, stress-reducing strategies and anger management are essential skills that they need to become skilled at.

Specific topics include:

Option 1 - Standard day or ½ day

Part 1(half day)

• Understanding emotions
• Understanding your thoughts
• Communication skills
• Controlling Anger
• Conflict management

Part 2

Option 2 - Bespoke day or ½ day

We can deliver bespoke workshops to meet individual  requirements. Typical examples include:

a) Selecting topics from both part 1 and part 2 (½ day).
